Congratulations on your five year anniversary with the City of Ellsworth!  Could you give us an idea of what a “day in the life” of someone working in IT entails?
We start the first hour of our day at our desks ready for any login issues or computer boot up issues.  During that time if it is not too busy we start planning our day by looking at the IT ticket system and prioritize new tickets, unfinished tickets or projects that we have been working on.  From there, the rest of the day is dictated by the ongoing to-do list presented by the ticket system.  Slower times we will work on systems maintenance and future planning for system improvements.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
No two days are the same.  I get to interact with all employees and solve problems that are important to them.

What do you find most challenging?
Keeping up with new technology.  But that is also one of the fun parts.

What are you looking forward to most about summer?
Long sunny days and not having to use a snow shovel.

Do you have a favorite place in the library?                                                                                                                                                                                         Working in Information Technology you get to go to parts of the building the public generally doesn’t get to see.  Areas like the original basement and maintenance closets.  For me, it is fun to see the history of the building and the technology remnants of years past.
