This week, we’re checking in with the some of the EPL staff about what they’re currently reading.
Carol: I just finished reading Uprooted by Naomi Novik this morning. I enjoyed it every bit as much as her Spinning Silver, if not more. Tonight I will dive into Rainbow Warrior: My life in color, a memoir by Gilbert Baker, the creator of the rainbow flag.
Abby: I just finished The Invited by Jennifer MacMahon, a ghost story about a couple who builds a house on haunted property. It’s a well-written thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.
Amy: I’m currently reading Oh Crap! I Have a Toddler by Jamie Glowacki. A super helpful, practical guide to help parents navigate the hectic toddler years.
I just finished listening to Salt to the Sea
by Ruth Sepetys for the Book-a-Month Club. Everyone enjoyed it! Feel free to join us next month
for a discussion of Searching for Stars on an Island in Maine
by Alan Lightman.
Kate: The Wolf in the Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky. A truly STUNNING novel that mixes Inuit and Norse mythology (and a lot of research) which tells the story of two unlikely allies: an Inuit shaman and a Viking warrior. The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. A complex and intricately plotted murder-mystery that keeps the reader guessing! The Alice Network by Kate Quinn. A very compelling story about women’s roles as spies during WWI. With two different perspectives (and time periods) this novel brings together some interesting characters with some great character development!
