Set in the near future, The Rationing takes place when the government supply of a modern miracle drug, Dormigen, is depleted just as a disease erupts that calls for that drug. The story is from the point of view of one of the scientists who is attending the “crisis” meetings at the White House as they deal with how to respond. The situation goes global as the U.S. tries to get more of the drug from other countries, especially China. The book is political in nature describing hypocrisy, deception and backstabbing.
