Tess Gerritsen’s new novel, The Shape of Night, is a delightful read. Set in Maine, you can feel the rocky coast brush against your feet in her detailed descriptions. The book is loaded with intrigue and mystery, as well as the introspection of Ava Colette. Ava is a heroine contending not just with outside forces, but reconciling herself with her own decisions, nevermind the unexplained tragedies that seem to haunt Tucker’s Cove. The twists and turns of the plot will keep you up and reading into the night as Ava battles with friend, foe, and her cat Hannibal.
