To Have and To Hoax is a humorous, regency romance. It’s just this side of Harlequin but still manages to be a battle of the sexes as Violet is trying to build her marriage to her husband, James Audley, back up. If only their tit for tat revenge schemes were not easier than actually talking to each other. It’s light and funny but you never know how ridiculous they’re going to end up being, and it’s actually quite ridiculous. If you don’t mind a bit of frivolity, I would recommend this book for some harmless fun. While not laugh out loud funny, I did have to stop and snort at Violet’s antics more than once.
