There are a number of ways to help the library through donations. We appreciate each and every one, no matter how large or small!
Make a monetary donation:
We accept donations of cash or by check made out to the Ellsworth Public Library. Donations may be left at the Circulation Desk or mailed to the library at: 20 State Street, Ellsworth, ME 04605. Drop your spare change in our Donation Jar each time you come in!
Make a donation in memory of or in honor of someone:
We accept donations when someone dies and acknowledge these donations to both the giver and the person’s family. We encourage the family help with the decision on how the funds will be used.
A donation to the library can also be a great way to honor someone when they retire, have a birthday, or just because they mean a lot to you.
Adopt An Author:
Our Adopt An Author program allows you to pay for books published by your favorite author on our list of popular writers. You can do this for one book or every one that author publishes. Big plus of doing this? You get to read the books you purchase for us before anyone else! View the Adopt an Author List.
Remember the Library in your annual charitable donations and in your estate planning with the giving of funds or property. All donations to the Library are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please contact the Board of Trustees for more information.
Volunteer your time and skills:
The library uses qualified volunteers to help with some of the tasks that keep the library running.
Some of these are:
- Preparing materials to go into the collection
- Helping with preparation for children’ programs
- Serving on community committees working on library’s future
If you would like to volunteer, please see our Library Volunteer Page for more information and to fill out an application.
