Get in the spirit of the season with a very special holiday concert and sing along by the Acadia Handbell Choir on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. at Due to our carpeting project, the concert will be held at the Moore Community Center. The choir will chime in the annual holiday season at the library.
Handbell choirs are carefully choreographed so that the entire group acts as a single instrument. They are often found in churches and college settings. The Acadia Handbell Choir, which formed in the 1970s at the Hancock Union Church, performs a mix of religious and secular music, according to a 2012 article in Profiles Maine Magazine.
Anyone can check out the bells and give them a ring after the performance. The event is free and open to the public, so everyone can enjoy the decorative and festive atmosphere.’
