The Field House – The life story of Rachel Field, award winning Maine author from the 1930’s.

Rachel Field is the author of the Newbery Medal-winning “Hitty:  Her First Hundred Years ‘. Field lived in a summer home on Sutton Island, later purchased by Robin Wood and her husband. As Robin learned more about Rachel and her mysterious death at age forty-seven, she was captivated by the author and her works. She knew she would write the story of Rachel Field.

Robin Wood has enjoyed writing since childhood. Her passion has lead her to writing several feature articles, columns for newspapers, blogs and now her first full length book. Robin describes “The Field House’ as being a biography/memoir hybrid which transformed her life.
