Books on Call is a program to provide books and other materials to people who are homebound and physically unable to get to our library. People using the program must have or arrange to get a library card.
Anyone who qualifies and would like to participate in the program should fill out and submit an online form below, or paper application available at the library. The library will look for a volunteer who is willing to deliver (and return) materials. Once a volunteer has been found, we will put them in touch with the individual who needs home delivery. The two people can arrange a schedule that is suitable to both of them. The volunteer can select materials based on the member’s preference or the member may call or email ahead and request certain materials be held for pick up by the volunteer.
The volunteer needs to carry the member’s library card in order to check out the materials.
Materials available to homebound persons:
- Books, including large print books
- Audio books on CD
- Magazines (excluding the most current issue of adult magazines)
- Movies on DVD and Blu Ray
If you would like to volunteer to help pick up and deliver materials for someone, please fill out and submit our Books on Call volunteer application available here.
