DSC03249

Join Maine St. Andrews Pipe and Drums for a stirring evening of music on the lawn at the Ellsworth Public Library on date September 6th at 6:30pm.
Formed in 1996 from the merger of Acadian Pipes & Drums and Northern Border Caledonia, Maine St. Andrew’s Pipes & Drums entertains audiences around New England. Every year MSAPD performs at a multitude of different events, ranging from traditional marches on parade to waltzes, jigs, and reels in concert. They also take part in pipe band competitions throughout the region, and MSAPD is currently the top ranked pipe band in Maine.
The band proudly wears the Maine State Tartan. Designed in 1964, it is believed to be the oldest district tartan in the United States. Its colors include light blue for the sky, dark blue for the waters, dark green for the forests, and a thin red line for the bloodline of the people.
