Zippety’s August Letter

041Hi friends!

We’ve had a really great summer so far! How about you? Have you done anything exciting? I’d love to hear about it sometime. You can write me letters and hand them in here at the library. I love to get letters from kids. I write back too!

There are only 2 programs left in our Summertime Delights series. On August 5th someone from Chewonki will be here to talk about hero adaptations in animals. There will be a bat, a spider, and a mystery animal. August 12th is our end of Summer Reading superhero party. Feel free to come in costume to play some games and win a prize. Both of these programs start at 6:00 pm.

We’ve been learning a lot about heroes this summer. We’ve talked a lot about superheroes but don’t forget about everyday heroes like police officers.  Join us for a special storytime with an officer from the Ellsworth Police Department Thursday August 6 at 10:30am. All ages are welcome.

There’s just one more literacy Friday left this summer. Come tell your own superhero story August 7 at 2:00 pm.

Did you ever want to meet a real live author? Here’s your chance! At 10:30 am on August 13 author Kristen Byrer will read her book The Adventures of Bluedoe.  At 2pm on the 13th, teen author Ethan Snyder will be here to talk about his new book Adventures in the World of Minecraft.

Lots of people are afraid of sharks, but not me. I think sharks are awesome. Come learn more about sharks at our special storytime Saturday August 15th at 10:30am. Do some cool activities and make a special craft.

We also have our regular storytimes and LEGOs on the 14th.

I hope I’ll see you soon.

Your Friend,

Zippety
