In the Soul of an Octopus Sy Montogomery describes her experiences as she befriends several octopi with different personalities—gentle Athena, assertive Octavia, curious Kali, and joyful Karma. The creatures show their cleverness in many ways: escaping very small enclosures, jetting water to bounce balls; and tricking their keepers in different ways to get extra food. The octopi can also solve various problems designed by their keepers.  The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montogomery was loved by all of the Tuesday Readers Book Group. We felt we had learned a lot and were attracted to the many features of this unique group.
