The easiest way to place a reserve on an item we have at the library is through your online library account.
Step-by-step instructions for reserving online:
- Log in using your card and phone number.
- Search for the item you’d like and click the button that says Reserve Title.
- Now you can choose how you want to be notified when it is ready for pickup by using the drop-down arrow.
- After you have done that, click the Place Reserve button.
- The next screen will show you if the reserve was successful (it should be!) and where you are on the reserve list.
- You can also bookmark titles you might want to read sometime down the road and you can cancel or defer reserves.

Most everything can be renewed once as long as no one else has it on reserve, it isn’t a new adult fiction book, and it’s not a Lucky Read.
If we do not own a material you would like to use, we would be happy to attempt to obtain it for you from another library. You can find out more and fill out the request form on our interlibrary loan page.
We offer a selection of adult fiction and non-fiction bestsellers as “Lucky Reads”. These books only circulate for 7 days with no renewals and no hold lists. This is a great option for fast readers who don’t want to wait on a long hold list to read a popular new book. The overdue fine for these books is 50 cents per day. Lucky Reads are located in the new books area of the library.
If you have an Ellsworth Public Library card, you can log in using your card number (below the barcode) as your patron ID and your phone number or the password you’ve set for your account as your password. If you do not have a card with us, you can ask for a guest pass at the circulation desk.
How long can I use the computer?
We have 15, 30, and 60 minute computers. Regardless of which computer you are using, you may ask a librarian to extend your time. We are happy to do that as long as no one is waiting to use a computer.
Please be sure to ask for additional time before your session ends so we can extend your time.
Please note: 30 and 60 minute computers shut down automatically 15 minutes before the library closes for the day. Please save your work before they shut down. Fifteen minute computers will shut down five minutes before the library closes.
After you pull up your document or webpage on one of our computers, click print. A box will pop up asking if you would like to send it to the printer. Click SEND and take your card or guest pass to the printing computer (located near the stairs). Follow the instructions listed by this computer to complete the process. If you need help during this process, please ask a librarian.
Printing fees are 15 cents per page for black and white, 50 cents per page for color.
At this time, you cannot print directly from your personal device. You may log in to one of our computers to print, using the instructions above, or email your document or webpage to a librarian who can print it for you. Please ask at the desk for the printing email.
